Trip to Sacred Heart Apostolic School Day 4

(boy's perspective)
Tuesday morning began as the previous, including amazing Mass and breakfast. Our big activity for the day was going to massive 200 feet tall sand dunes near Lake Michigan's shore. When we first arrived at the dunes, we had an intense snowball fight on a massive frozen wave right off of Lake Michigan's beach. Then, we started sledding. We found a steep but still safe slope. Towards the end of the sledding, we had the tendency to drift to the right and almost crash into trees. Some didn't even use sleds and glided down the snow on their stomachs like penguins. After we arrived back at the school, we played a fun match of soccer with the apostolics. Then, we took a nice and wonderful walk, while we said the rosary. For dinner, we received a specially prepared cajun meal of gumbo by Blaine Rider. Then, we had a question and answer session with the apostolics, asking them about the school and how they feel about it.

(dad's perspective)
Wow! What a day!  Exhausted, but filled with the Holy Spirit! The day began with Mass, followed by a great breakfast.  Today the dads were in charge of dinner and Gumbo was on the menu thanks to one of the dads from Louisiana.  After breakfast, the dads headed to the kitchen to start the Roux for Gumbo. Once the Roux was done we immediately headed for our first outing.  We packed up sleds, snacks, and sandwiches, and headed out to Michigan to Warren Dunes State Park.
The boys and the dads hiked up the dunes and sledded.  Wow!  What a rush! I felt like a kid again, lol!  Then the amazing part.  We actually walked on water!  Well, ok, we walked on frozen water. Lake Michigan was frozen!  It was great!  We had a wild snow ball fight on top of frozen Lake Michigan, everyone against everyone.  What an experience!
Once we returned back to SHAS, the dads took over the kitchen and finished the Gumbo.  It was delicious!  Kuddos to the dad from Louisiana!
After dinner, the Fathers and dads watched a movie together and hung out. It was great!  We ended with night prayers and then hit the sack.
